Strawberry Matcha Christmas Crack
The easiest treat you can make to bring Christmas cheer all season long! Give it out as gifts or keep it around the house as a snack… nobody will be able to resist these Chrismas crack!
Ingredients:
1 box of Chex corn cereal
1 box of original Cheerios cereal (not honey nut)
1 bag of pretzel rods or mini pretzels
1 bag of mini M&M’s (if you can find exclusively red and green M&M’s - even better!)
2 11 oz bags of Ghirardelli Premium Baking Classic White Chips (I’ve tried a ton of white chocolate chips from different brands and these yielded the highest success rates for melting on stove top)
Freeze-dried strawberries (I get mine from Trader Joe’s)
Matcha powder (my current fav is from Tea Master)
Equipments:
Parchment paper
Sheet baking pan (I’ve used THESE for years and they’re the most durable!)
Pot for boiling water
Mixing bowls
Instructions:
Pour Chex, Cheerios, pretzels and M&M’s into a large mixing bowl and mix well
Split the mixture into three even portions in separate bowls
Bring water to a boil then place a stove-safe bowl on top of the pot
While you wait on the water, crush up the freeze-dried strawberries in a food processor and set aside
Once water’s boiling, pour white chocolate chips into the bowl on top of the pot and continue mixing until all chips are melted well
Pour white chocolate mixture evenly onto each of the cereal mixtures
Dust matcha powder onto one of the cereal mixtures and dust strawberry powder onto another; leave the third mixture as plain white chocolate
Mix the white chocolate thoroughly into the cereal mixtures until you see clumps forming
Cut out three pieces of parchment paper and spread the mixtures onto the parchment papers until an even, fairly thin layer forms
Place each portion onto sheet baking pans and transfer to the freezer for 5 - 10 minutes
Once solidified, remove from the freezer and break each “block” into bite-sized pieces
Mix the three portions together in a Christmas tin box and gift it or enjoy it!
