Healthy Purple Multigrain Rice

The healthier version of your everyday good ole’ rice that keeps your blood sugar leveled while giving even more chew and satisfaction to every bite! I switched over to this purple multigrain rice after becoming pre-diabetic and I’ve never enjoyed rice more!

Ingredients:

Equipments:

  • Rice cooker

Instructions:

  1. Mix all the rice and grains together, wash and rinse (I typically do 4 rounds of washing; this allows more starch contents of the rice to dissipate, which will also help with lowering the glycemic index of the rice)

  2. Once rice is cleaned, add water according to your rice cooker (in this case, to the water line that cooks 3 cups of rice) or simply do 1:1 ratio of rice to water (in this case, add 3 cups of water)

  3. Start rice cooker and let it cook on “mixed rice” setting, or “GABA rice” setting

  4. Enjoy!
