Crispy Air Fryer Rice Paper Snack

Kinda like those Japanese shrimp crackers with real shrimps in pressed in them, except with imitation crab folded in between rice papers. What’s better, it’s fried in the air-fryer so you can enjoy them guilt-free!

Ingredients:

  • Imitation crab, thawed

  • Square rice papers

  • Thinly chopped scallions

  • Sesame oil

Equipments:

  • Air fryer (easier with one where you can visualize the food as it cooks, check mine HERE and use code “HAOHUNGRY” for 15% off your order!)

  • Food scissors

  • Oil brush

Instructions:

  1. Thaw as many imitation crab sticks as you will use - I used 6 sticks and cut each stick into threes

  2. Cut the crab sticks into three and flatten each section to allow the strips to “fan” out

  3. Using an oil brush, gloss a piece of dry rice paper in sesame oil before placing each crab stick section across the rice paper

  4. Sprinkle thinly chopped scallions across the rice paper

  5. Taking a new sheet of rice paper, wet it and cover on top of the first sheet

  6. Press the edges of the wet piece of rice paper onto the dry piece well then cut into sections according to where the crack sticks are positioned

  7. Preheat the air fryer to 350 F degrees and cook for 5 minutes per batch, making sure not to overcrowd the air fryer so the edges have room to crisp up

  8. Let cool and enjoy!
